Obituary
Darien R. Melvin, age 45, of Helena, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at his residence.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2009 at the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Baker officiated.
Mr. Melvin was born in Telfair County and lived in Telfair and Dodge County all of his life. He owned M & K Construction. worked with Tribble Logging, worked for Quality Saws and owned his own shrimp boat before his health began to deteriorate. Mr. Melvin was preceded in death by his father Nathaniel Melvin.
Survivors include his mother; wife: step-father his cluldren: sisters; brother; step-sisters; step-brother; grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
Lowe's Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of the arrangements.
