Obituary
Bertha Alda Simmons Giddens, 89, entered into rest on Thursday, September 8, 2011.
Ms. Giddens was born on June 9, 1922 in Dodge County, Georgia, and was a member of Higher Praise Church of God. She retired from Robins Air Force Base after working for over thirty years in civil service as an Items Manager. She enjoyed sewing, shopping and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Hugh Dorsey Giddens; sons, Hugh Ronald "Ron" Giddens and Randy L. Giddens; great-grandson, Andrew Seth Hudson; brothers, T.F. Simmons, Levane Simmons, Waymon Simmons and Wymon Simmons; and parents, Thomas F. Simmons and Fannie Spoon Simmons.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sister; granddaughters; daughter-in-law; brother-in-law; sisters-in-law; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverends Jesse Bowen and Vaughn Wood officiating. Entombment will follow in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
