JOEY ROBERTS, age 56, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, May 17, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Arnold Rye officiating. Joey was born in Belle Glade, FL, where he resided with his family until they moved to Eastman, GA in the early 1970s. He was of the Baptist faith, attended school in Chester, and later worked as an automotive and motorcycle mechanic for many years. He was a talented and gifted mechanic, like many in his family, and he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, especially his mother whom he loved dearly. Joey was a loving and dedicated son, father, grandfather, and nephew who was affectionately known as “Flintstone” to his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his Father, Jennings W. “Buck” Roberts, Maternal Grandparents, Faye Jobe Rozier and William Rozier, Sr., and Paternal Grandparents, Edith Heedick Roberts and Floyd M. Roberts. He is survived by his Daughter; 1 Grandson; Mother; Aunts and Uncles; Numerous cousins and friends. The family may be contacted at the residence and Joey will lie in state at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 1:00PM-5:00PM Thursday, May 16.
