Obituary
It is with feeling akin to pain and sorrow that we chronicle the death of this worthy and highly respected citizen of our county, which occured at his residence on Monday morning, September 10th, 1883, after a lingering illness of typhoid fever. Mr. Parkerson was about 30 years of age, and was a pious and exemplary man in all the walks of life. He was a consistent member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, and clerk of the same at the time of his death. Mr. P. was an honored member of the Eastman Lodge, F. A. M., and was buried with Masonic honors on Tuesday last at the old Parkerson burying ground. The deceased leaves a wife and five children and other relatives to mourn his loss. The bereaved ones have our heartfelt condolence in their sad loss.
