MRS. BESSIE NELL BRYAN SMITH, age 89, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, July 26, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, August 4, at Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Emory Howell officiating. Bessie was born in Laurens County, GA to the late Minnie Barron Bryan and Joseph Bryan. She was a 1950 graduate of Chester High School and later worked for C & J Manufacturing as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and traveling. Bessie was preceded in death by her Husband of 13 years, George Owen Smith, Son, Charles Joe Westbrook, Sister, Iris McCullars, and Brother, Andrew Bryan. She is survived by her Daughters; Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Sister; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence.
