REV. JOHN MITCHELL BROWN, age 69, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mitchell was born in Macon, GA in 1954 and was a member of Old Daniel Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Dodge County High School and worked as a machinist for Boeing for many years. He was an ordained Baptist Minister and pastored several local churches before retiring in 2017. Mr. Brown was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and most of all spending time with his family. Mitchell was the son of the late Ellis W. Brown and Lois Thompson Brown and his biological father, Asa Ballard. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Brown, Faith Newberry, Laura B. Ward, and Laudie Ballard, 3 Sisters-in-law, Mildred Laverne Hill, Mary Abbilene Carr, and Cindy Ballard. He is survived by his Wife; Daughter; 2 Sons; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter; Sister; Brother; Sisters-in-law; Several Nieces and Nephews.
