MR. JOHN FRANKLIN STRICKLAND, age 74, of Rhine, GA, died Monday, May 3, 2021 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date. John was a born in Hawkinsville and raised in Rhine. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired carpenter for over 40 years. He began working in construction when he was 14 years old and at 16, he married and moved to Dalton, GA in 1962 and worked for many years as a self employed carpenter. He and his family later moved to Ellijay in 1973, where he continued his work as a carpenter and in 1980, he owned and operated Strickland Home Builders until he retired and moved back to Rhine, GA in 2015. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated and loving father, grandfather, and brother. John was the son of the late Willie Clara Williamson Strickland and William Hansel Strickland and was preceded in death by his Twin Daughters, Bobbie Strickland and Barbara Strickland, Grandson, Randall Brent Williams, and 5 Siblings, Mary Martha Dent, Verlie Peacock, Maybelle Strickland, Thomas Strickland, and Bob Strickland. He is survived by his 2 Daughters; 6 Grandchildren; Several Great-Grandchildren; Sister; 2 Brothers; Sister-in-law; Several Nieces and Nephews.
