Betty Laverne Johnston, 84, of Stockbridge, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born in Eastman, GA, to the late Lucia and Edna Knight. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Sargent and Dennis J. Johnston; and multiple siblings. Betty was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of Community Church of Praise. She found joy in flower and vegetable gardening, sports cars, and visiting Chick-Fil-A. She loved listening to gospel music and taking trips to the mountains. Above all, she was a proud and dedicated wife, mother, Nanny, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Community Church of Praise, 3851 Union Church Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281, with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Betty’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
