MR. GLYNN ESTES TARPLEY, age 69, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Myron Parkerson and Mr. Hank Sapp officiating.
Glynn was born on December 4, 1955, in Dublin, GA and was of the Christian faith. He lived in Chester, GA in his early years. His family moved to Laurens County when he was 12 years old and he later attended Dublin High School. He worked as a cook at local Tastee Freeze, beginning a career as a cook, before moving to Fairhope, AL where he continued to cook for Tastee Freeze. He returned to Dublin, GA in the late 1970s to work as a painter with his father. He met his future wife, Gail Huff during this time, and they married on May 24, 1977. The following year they welcomed the birth of their son, Kelby. They raised their family which included Gail’s 7-year-old daughter, Angel in Eastman, GA while Glynn worked at the Carriage Inn and later the Western Sizzlin both as cooks. He later worked as a painter for Robins AFB in Warner Robins and Zeigler in Dublin before retiring and enjoying his time with his family and grandchildren. He was affectionately known as “PePa†and enjoyed drinking and fishing, living a laid-back lifestyle. Earlier in life he also liked to squirrel and deer hunt and spend his time outdoors. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Uncle. Glynn is preceded in death by his Father, Hoke Smith Tarpley Sr., Siblings, Lynn Tarpley, Hoke Smith “Bo†Tarpley Jr., and Pam Tarpley, Sisters-in-law and Brother-in-law, Miki Ammerman, Carolyn Brown, and David Huff.
He is survived by his Wife of 48 years; Daughter; Son; Mother; Sister; Grandchildren; Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews; Mother-in-law; Brothers-in-law and Sister-in-law; Best Friend
The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday September 24, 2025, one hour before services. In addition to flowers the family requests contributions to The Ronald McDonald House in Macon, GA, rmhccga.org
