WILLIAM ANTHONY “POPS” GROVES, age 71, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Groves was born in Cedartown, GA, was a graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, and was of Baptist faith. After high school William joined the United States Air Force and served as an aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War. After service he began his family and lived several places including Alaska, Alabama, Colorado, and Oregon before moving to Eastman, GA in the year 2000. He was a retried truck driver and owned and operated his own truck for over 20 years, contracting with several trucking companies during that time. He was a farmer and owner and operator of Pops Groves Produce for the past 10 years providing produce to the Dodge County and surrounding areas. Pops enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and farming. He was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Groves and Louise Young Groves and infant twin brothers. He is survived by his 2 Sons; 4 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren. The family may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Pops Groves memorial fund.
