Obituary

MR. MARVIN M. SCARBOROUGH, age 89, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at At Home in Cochran, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, April 12, at Eastman First Baptist Church, with Rev. Todd Crosby officiating, with interment at Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating. Marvin was a lifelong resident of Dodge County and longtime member of Eastman First Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for many years and was a member of the Disciples of Christ Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a company clerk during the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Stevenson Lumber Supply Company and later worked for Coleman’s Hardware for several years. Marvin enjoyed gardening, working around his home, and spending time with his wife Teena. He also enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia football games. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Marvin was the son of the late Emma Holland Scarborough and J. Walter Scarborough and was preceded in death by his Wife, Teena Scarborough, Daughter, Angie Scarborough, and Brothers, J.W. Scarborough, Thomas Scarborough, Donald Scarborough, Melvin Scarborough, and James Scarborough. He is survived by his 3 Step-Sons; Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Sisters; Sister-in-law; Special Caregiver; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family will receive friends in Eastman First Baptist Church from 10:00AM-11:00AM Friday, April 12. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Eastman First Baptist Church Building Fund.
