Obituary

MRS. CHRISTINE SMITH GRAHAM, age 84, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, April 17, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Cook, Dr. Dwaine Dunn, Mr. Ryne Graham officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Christine was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and loved listening to gospel music, cooking, and caring for her family. She was employed at Rodenware in McRae for many years and later worked at Dexter Sportswear in Dexter, GA for nine years. She was the matriarch of the family and was lovingly known as “Granny”. She always made time for her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She lived out a life of faith by taking care of her mother for over two years. Christine was the daughter of the late Lois Burch Smith and Felton B. Smith and was preceded in death by a Son, Melvin B. Graham, Sister, Faustine S. Trawick, and 4 Brothers, Rayford Smith, Benny Smith, Jarrell Smith, and J.B. Smith. She is survived by her Husband of 63 years; 2 Sons; Daughter-in-law; 11 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister; 3 Sisters-in-law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; Her Canine Companion - Layla. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Sunday, April 16.
