Obituary

MRS. SUSAN YOUNG GRAHAM, age 69, of Milan, GA, died Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the Medical Center Navicent Health, in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 5, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chester Beasley, Rev. Ron Jones, Rev. Ronnie Young, and Mr. Monty Young officiating, with interment in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Susan was born in Laurens County, of the Christian Faith, a graduate of Dexter High School, and attended Mercer University. After high school, she married in 1974 to Randall Graham and worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell for several years. She later went to work as a bookkeeper for the Title 1 program and the school food service departments for the Dodge County Board of Education, where she retired after 30 years of faithful service. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family, talking daily with her sisters, sewing, reading, social media, researching her family ancestry, and going out to dinners with her family. Susan also enjoyed her work and the many wonderful coworkers she had the privilege to work with over the years. She was preceded in death by her Father, Rev. W.H. “Buddy” Young, Husband, Randall J. Graham, Infant Sister, Laura Evelyn Young, and Brother, Phillip Young. She is survived by her Daughter; 2 Sons; Grandson; Mother; 6 Sisters; 5 Brothers; Sister-in-law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, August 4.
