MR. WILMER SHEFFIELD, age 76, of Acworth, GA, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Tranquility Hospice at Cobb Hospital in Austell. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, June 15, at Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Reggie Sheffield officiating. Mr. Sheffield was born in Milan, GA, a 1961 graduate of Dodge County High School and a member of Eastman First Baptist Church. He was a retired Corporal for the Georgia State Patrol, serving over 25 years, a former civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base and a Sergeant in the Georgia National Guard for over 5 years. Wilmer was a dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather and enjoyed riding and taking care of his horses. He was son of the late Mae Farmer Sheffield and John Quience Sheffield and was preceded in death by a Sister, Ruby Sheffield Burch and 6 Brothers, Clarence Sheffield, Shippy Sheffield, Albert Sheffield, Razz Sheffield, Robert Sheffield and Needham Sheffield. Survivors: Wife of 53 years; Daughter; Son; 2 Grandsons; 4 Sisters; 2 Sisters-in-law; 2 Brothers-in-law; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:30PM Saturday, June 15.
