MRS. CHARLENE BOWEN SHEFFIELD, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her residence. Private graveside funeral services will be held at Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, with Dr. Donnie Sutton officiating. Mrs. Sheffield was born and raised in Eastman and was a 1959 graduate of Dodge County High School. She attended Middle Georgia College upon graduating high school. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church where she was a Baptist ministers’ wife and a dedicated church worker. Charlene was employed by the State of Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services in Eastman for 30 years. She was a longtime church pianist and played in several gospel groups through the years. She was a faithful wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her Father, A.P. “Pud” Bowen, her Mother, Louise Nobles Bowen, her Husband, Rev. Jack Sheffield, and two Sisters, Catherine Bowen Bearden and Ruth Bowen Sheffield. She is survived by her Daughter; Granddaughter; 4 Sisters-In-Laws; 2 Brothers-In-Law; Several Nieces and Nephews and Several Great Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence.
