Obituary
EASTMAN, GA- MRS. AVIS WYNN PEACOCK, age 92, of Eastman, GA, died, July 11, 2013, in the Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, July 14, in First Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Daniel officiating, with interment in Plainfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Laurens County, a member of Eastman First Baptist Church, the Sally Bacon Sunday School class, and served as a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years. She was an avid Gardener, a retired jewelry consultant with Smith Jewelers, and a resident of McRae Manor for the past 3 years. She was a member of the WMU, Senior Citizens Center, Historical Society, Meals on Wheels volunteer, and longtime Vacation Bible School worker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Vida Pearl Wynn and Wilton William Wynn.
She was preceded in death by her Husband - Walter L. Peacock; 2 Sons - Wayne Peacock & Winton Peacock; 2 Sisters - Doris Peacock & Mary Smith; 2 Brothers - C.J. Wynn & Furman Wynn; Daughter-In-Law - Mary Jo Peacock; Son-In-Law - Ronald Martin.
Survivors: 2 Daughters; 2 Sons; Daughter-In-Law; 12 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren.
The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Saturday, July 13.
