Gray – Miss Faye "Peggy" Rowland, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, November 18, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., at Trinity Episcopal Church in Cochran. The burial will be private in Rowland Cemetery. The family will meet the family following the service at the church. Faye was born June 1, 1941, in Chester, Georgia, the daughter of the late Perry Rowland, Theo Oxley, and Irene Minter Rowland Oxley. She grew up in Dodge County and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Faye attended Dodge County Schools before transferring to Dexter High School where she graduated in 1959. She went on to attend and graduate from Crandall Business College in Macon. Faye was also a licensed real estate broker in Georgia, Kentucky, New York, and Hawaii. In 1962, she married an army pilot, had three beautiful daughters and traveled the world. While traveling and taking care of her daughters, Faye worked for 18 years as a Federal Civil Service employee. She worked for The Corp of Engineers, HUD, IRS, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Federal Dept. Of Transportation as a housing officer and in their legal offices. She was preceded in death by her sister, Opal Rowland, and brothers-in-law who were like her brothers, JW Maddox, Wayne Rogers, Aaron Rowland, and Bobby Rozar. After living all over the world Faye settled in Cochran before moving to Gray 2 years ago. While in Cochran, she and her family attended Trinity Episcopal Church. Family and traveling were her two greatest passions. Over the years she would travel all over the world and since the birth of her grandchildren, she has made quite a few trips from Georgia to Oklahoma to visit her beloved grandchildren who called her Ghani. Miss Faye was a staunch republican and Trump supporter who didn't hesitate to share her political views with you. She will be missed by all. Those left to cherish her memories are: daughters; grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
