MR. BILLY RAY HILLIARD, age 68, of Rhine, GA, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 7, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Bobby Ryals and Mr. Gary Ryals officiating. Billy Ray was born and raised in Rhine, attended Dodge County High School and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired correctional officer for Wilcox State Prison for over 20 years and a heavy equipment operator for Hercules, Inc. in McRae, GA for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandbabies, who were his heart. He also loved watching NASCAR, college football, and dirt track racing. Billy Ray was the son of the late Claude Bowen Hilliard and Woodrow Hilliard and was preceded in death by his biological parents, Oreida Selph Hilliard and S.J. Hilliard, and a Brother, Junior Hilliard. He is survived by his Daughter; Son; 2 Grandchildren; 3 Sisters; 3 Brothers; Sister-in-law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; His Baby – Cricket. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Tuesday, December 6.
