Wayne Morris Cartwright,66, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the Dodge County Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Morris Cartwright and a brother, Wilson Cartwright. Wayne was a graduate of Telfair County High School and the Mercer University. He was an insurance agent who loved his Farmers! Insurance adjuster who made many friends storm trooping. Civic-minded: On Original Milan Celebration Committee, Dodge Recreation Board (when new complex was built). Sand Grove Baptist Church, Deacon and various positions: teacher, song leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Discipleship Training Director, Outside Nativity performer. He was on the Milan City Council, member for multiple terms and Mayor: Long-term McRae Jaycee member and charter member and first president of Milan Jaycee. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Sand Grove Baptist Church, Milan and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Joey Bohannon will officiate. Survivors include his wife of 46 years; children; mother; brother, and sister-in-law; sister-in-law; nieces and nephews; special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 1st at the funeral home.
