MRS. MAXINE DELORES LEWIS BUIE, age 89, of Eastman, GA, died May 1, 2019 at Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, May 3, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele, Rev. Jack Lee and Rev. Brian Martin officiating, with interment in Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Buie was born in Plainfield, a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class, a graduate of Chester High School and Business School, a former bookkeeper for C.B. Smith Volkswagen in Austin, TX and office manager for Mutual Production Credit in Eastman in the 1950s. Maxine was a homemaker, a dedicated wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was daughter of the late Willie Belle Lee Lewis and John Lewis and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Henry Lawrence Buie. Survivors: Daughter; Son; Step Daughter; 5 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Sister-in-law; Several Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Buie residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Friday, May 3. In addition to flowers contributions may be made to the Eastman First Baptist Church Building Fund, 5107 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023.
