TONYA MICHELLE UPSHAW MARTINEZ, age 49, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, March 31, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Sherwin Anderson officiating, with interment in Parkerson Baptist Church Cemetery. Tonya was born in McRae, raised in Dodge County, and of the Baptist Faith. She attended Dodge County High School and was a homemaker. She worked for several years at Middle Georgia Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide during the 1990s. Later she worked at Goldens Personal Care Home as a transport driver for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Tonya loved cookouts, couponing, trips to the beach, taking care of her canine companion Itty Bitty, spending time with her family, and going on dates with her husband to the Mexican restaurant Broncos. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Elise Hayes Upshaw and 2 Brothers, James “Pee Wee” Williams, Jr. and Shannon Upshaw. She is survived by her Husband of 21 years; Daughter; Son; Father; Sister; Niece; Great-Nephews; Several Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law; Numerous Extended Family Members and Friends.
