Obituary

MRS. HELEN ANGELA BRYANT WALKER, age 71, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, August 2, at Eastman First Baptist Church, with Rev. Todd Crosby and Rev. David Smith officiating, with interment in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Rhine, GA. Angela was born and raised in Augusta, GA. She was a graduate of Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA, and later attended Truett-McConnell University. She married the love of her life, Dr. G.S. Walker, III, in 1973 and they moved to Eastman, GA in 1974, where they enjoyed over 35 years of marriage. She was a dedicated member of Eastman First Baptist Church and was involved with many church activities through the years. She was a homemaker and briefly worked at Dodge County High School as a secretary in 1982. She later owned and operated her specialty boutique store, Piddlin’ Peddler, in Eastman for many years. Angela loved her husband and family dearly. She was a dedicated mother to her boys and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking trips with her family and husband to the beach, going on Alaskan cruises, and to the Baja Peninsula in California. Angela was the daughter of the late Mary Helen Atwell Bryant and Wade Ellison Bryant and was preceded in death by her Husband, Dr. George S. “G.S.” Walker, III, and Brothers, Douglas Bryant and Wade Bryant. She is survived by her 4 Sons; 9 Grandchildren; Great-Grandson; Brother; Sisters-in-law; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Walker residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Tuesday, August 1. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Eastman First Baptist Church, 5107 Oak St, Eastman, GA 31023.
