MR. FELTON HERMAN “BUDDY” OXLEY, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at his residence in Gresston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, March 20, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Gresston Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. Mr. Oxley was born in Dodge County, of the Holiness faith, and was a retired mechanic for over 50 years. He was a former mechanic for Gold Kist, Lumber Transport, Eastman Equipment Company, and was self-employed for many years. He was a dedicated husband and a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed kidding around with his family and friends. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, watching westerns and wrestling on television, farming and was a tractor enthusiast who enjoyed working as a mechanic. Buddy was son of the late Willie Mae Mullis Oxley and Freeman L. Oxley and was preceded in death by 15 siblings. Survivors: Wife of 52 years – Polly S. Howell Oxley of Gresston; 1 Son – Tony Oxley (Tracy) of Gresston; 2 Grandchildren – Ericka Fussell (Brent) of Eastman and Brent Oxley of Gresston; 2 Great-Grandsons – Rhett Fussell and Gunner Fussell, both of Eastman; 1 Sister – Dorothy Farren of Marshallville; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Oxley residence, 1108 Garrett-Oxley Road, Gresston, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, March 20.
