MR. FREDERICK LANIER “FRED†STONECYCPHER, age 82, of Cadwell, GA, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at his residence.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, March 11, at Lovely Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Fred was born in Pitts, GA, of the Christian Faith, and later moved with his family to Eastman where he attended Dodge County High School before joining the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany for several years where he served three tours in Vietnam and received numerous medals and commendations for his service including three purple hearts, a bronze star, and a silver star. After serving his country valiantly for over 18 years he left the military and worked several jobs over the years before becoming a cabinet builder for Rentz Cabinet Company where he worked for many years before retiring in the late 2000s. He enjoyed fishing and watching Gunsmoke on T.V. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the son of the late Eva Elise Cook Stonecypher and Robert Morris Stonecypher and was preceded in death by 2 Step-Children, Ronnie Whittington and Marsha Fritz, Grandson, Lee Whittington, and 3 Brothers, Charles Stonecypher, William Merritt “Bill†Stonecypher, and Lyndon Earl Stonecypher.
He is survived by his Wife; Daughter; Son; 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren; Sister; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
