Chester – James Oliver Hosford, Sr., age 87, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hosford was a lifelong resident of Chester. He was the son of the late Columbus B. and Mae Belfower Hosford, was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Hosford and Ralph Hosford, his sister, Mary Hosford and his granddaughter, Sabrina Wright. Mr. James was a retired rural mail carrier and a farmer. He was a 1953 graduate of Chester High School and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife; his children; his brother; his sister; his grandchildren; great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family is at and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
