MR. ROBERT JUNIOR “BOBBY” JOHNSON, age 69, of Chester, GA, died Thursday June 23, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, June 28, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Peacock, Mr. Larry Johnson, and Mr. Jerl Rowland officiating, with interment at Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester, GA. Mr. Johnson was born in Dexter, GA in 1953, raised in Chester, was a member of Chester Baptist Church, and attended First Church of the Nazarene in Cochran. He attended Dodge County High School and after high school he worked for Ralph Rowland Farms for over 15 years as a farmer. In 1980, he went to work at Blue Bird Body Company as a fabrication supervisor for over 38 years until his retirement in 2019. Bobby was a dedicated husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed working and being a provider for his family. He loved spending time at his home in Chester and being around his family and friends. Bobby was affectionately known as Papa to his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Noella Brady Johnson and Bert J.R. “B.J.” Johnson. He is survived by his Wife of 21 years; 2 Daughters; 3 Sons; Step-Daughter; Stepson; 18 Grandchildren; 4 Sisters; 5 Brothers; Sisters-In-Laws and Brothers-In-Laws; Numerous Nieces and Nephews and Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. The family may be contacted at the Johnson residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM – 11:00AM Tuesday, June 28.
