Cochran ~ Billie Jo Kimberly Groves, age 89, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at At Home Senior Living. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November, 1, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. at At Home Senior Living. The family will greet friends following the service. She was born January 21, 1934, in Bleckley County, to the late Mr. James Roquemore Kimberly and Mrs. Cora Jane Knight Kimberly and was the widow of the late Mr. Robert Groves. Billie was preceded in death by her son, Richard M. Greenman; sister, Ora Jeane Kimberly Ogles and brother, Wesley W Kimberly. Billie grew up in Cochran and attended Cochran Schools and lived here for most of her life. She lived in Florida for a few years before moving back to Cochran four years ago and made At Home Senior Living her home. Billie was full of life and enjoyed going to the V.F.W., reading and board games. After moving back to Cochran she reconnected with her cousin, Sharon Williams; dear friend, Shirley Rumanes and the rest of the At Home Senior Living community. She loved her home and friends and will be missed dearly. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
