Cochran ~ Mrs. Mary Bowman Berryhill, age 92, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 15, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in Bowers Cemetery in Empire. The Rev. Rich Hulsey will officiate. The family will meet friends following the service at the cemetery. Mrs. Mary was born in Dodge, County, the daughter of the late George W. Bowman Sr. and Gladys Mercer Bowman. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Henry Fred Berryhill, Sr.; brother, Adolph Doc Bowman; and sisters, Louise B. Hill and Ruby Nell Bowman. She attended Dodge, County Schools and was a graduate of Chester High School's Class of 1949. Mrs. Mary was of the Baptist faith,and a dedicated mother, wife, and friend. On May 15, 1953, she married the love of her life, Mr. Henry Fred Berryhill. She and Mr. Fred met at a local peanut boil and would have been married 70 years to the day at the time of her passing. She and Mr. Fred raised three children, daughter; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mary is also survived by her sister; brothers.
