MR. WILMER EUGENE “DOC” SPIRES, age 73, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his residence. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Spires was born in Telfair County, of the Baptist Faith, and a retired truck driver for over 50 years. He drove a log truck for Clem Brothers Logging for several years, hauled scrap metal for Johnson Recycling for many years, and pulled mobile homes at one point during his trucking career. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Wilmer was the son of the late Doc Spires and Lizzie Mae Jones Spires, and was preceded in death by a Daughter, Michelle Spires, an infant Great-Grandson, and 4 Siblings, Evelyn Anderson, LeRoy “Roy” Jones, Tobe Jones, and John Spires. He is survived by his Son; Daughter; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the residence.
