Obituary

In the dispensation of Divine Providence, it has pleased His Almightly will to call from our midst a youthful and esteemed youg man, Saxon Bishop, son of Mr. and mrs. james bishop, of this place. Only a short time did he linger, and many were the attantions he received from his devoted family, kind friends and acquaintances of both sexes, black and white. but love nor kindness, nor medical skill nor prayers could stay the hand of the full destroyer, and on the morning of the 3d instant, his soul took its flight, and we trust is now "safe in the arms of Jesus." The deceased was naturally of a tetiring dispositon, and of the strictest integrity, undemonstrative and reserved toward the world, yet capable of great depth and purity of feeling, as was proven by his idolatrous love and revenrence for his mother, and gentle devotion to his baby brouther who died only two short weeks before his own demise. During his illnessand lamost with his last breath, he offered up most touching and eloquent prayers to a throne of grace; and knowing that the dear Lord is ever ready to hear and answer prayer, we must believe that he is now with the God to whom he prayed, and little Guyton whom he loved so devotely. Then, fond parents, loving brother and sisters, grieve no more. dry your tears, and with an eye of faith look beyond to the "Land O' the Leel" and see your loved ones with Jesus. Blessed thought! In heaven with God, with Jesus and the angels! Oh! Can you wish them back to hsi world of sickness, sorrow, sin and temptations? In that beautiful world to lwhich they have gone, all is peace and joy and happiness. God give you grace sufficient for your trials and help you to sumissively bow to hsi will, knowing thalt "he doeth all things well."
