MRS. GLORIA DAWN DIXON YAWN, age 74, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, October 24, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church, a 1965 graduate of Dodge County High School, and attended Middle Georgia College. In high school she excelled at basketball and was an All-State guard for the Dodge County Lady Indians Basketball Team. She was an Account Manager for Saunders, Stuckey, and Mullis Insurance for over 30 years. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, going to yard sales and collecting antiques with her husband, camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Gloria was the daughter of the late Mary Watson Dixon and Robert Dixon and was preceded in death by her Husband of over 53 years, Jimmy Arnold Yawn, a Son, Michael Shane Yawn, and a Niece, Delaine W. Rollyson. She is survived by her Son; Grandson; Great-Granddaughter; 3 Sisters; Brother; Several Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the Yawn residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, October 24.
