Verna Lee Burch Tucker. age 85, of Fitzgerald. died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, in Fitzgerald Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00p. m. on Friday. February .27. 2009 in Vilula Baptist Church in Eastman with Jack Rogers officiating. Interment followed in Vilula Cemetery with Rev. Don Richardson. Mrs. Tucker. a native of Dodge County, was a member of Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, a homemaker, a 1942 graduate of Rhine High School, a graduate of Ben Hill-Irwin Vo-tech, and a former employee of Fitzgerald Cotton Mills. She was an active member of Fitzgerald's Rebekah Lodee, serving as Worthy Matron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie Lee Sheffield Burch and John Benjamin Burch; husband, Morris W. Scarborough and James Tucker; brothers, Carl Burch. Felton Burch and Sam Burch; and a sister, Ethel Rogers. Survivors include a son; three daughters, a sister; a brother: four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were ...
