CPO (USN Ret) Samuel L Herrington, age 92, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday July 4, 2018. Samuel was born May 14, 1926 in Eastman, GA to his late parents, Gussie Herrington and Samuel Lawson Herrington. He was a proud retired Navy Veteran who served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. After serving his country for twenty three and a half years, Samuel came home to serve his state as a Senior Claims Examiner for the Georgia Department of Labor until retiring again to enjoy his beloved family. The family will welcome guests for visitation at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to a Celebration of Samuel’s Life, with full Navy Honors, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM in The Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Along with his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marian Graham Herrington; brother Albert Herrington of Orlando, FL, and sisters, Eulalia Hammond, and Eudine Harrell both of Thomaston, GA. He is survived by; daughters; sons; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
