Mildred Harrell Callahan, age 78, of Atlanta, formerly of Dodge County, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Max Harrell officiating. Interment followed in Bay Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Callahan, a native of Dodge County, was a registered nurse and former operating room supervisor at Piedmont Hospital. She was a graduate of Piedmont-Hospital School of Nursing and did post graduate studies in operating room technique and management in New York. She was a member of New Daniels, Baptist Church. She was preceded, in death by her parents, Frances Coody Harrell and Ira Gary Harrell; and her husband, Paul Callahan. Survivors include two sisters; and one brother. Serving as pallbearers were ... ? was pianist for the funeral service. Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.
