Bobby Ray Couey, age 76, of Eastman, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 11 :00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Powell and Dr. Blake Couey officiating. Interment followed in Orphans Cemetery. Mr. Couey was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. He was a former director of Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department, past member of the Eastman Weavers Baseball Team, and a retired civil service employee of Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude White Couey and Lonnie David Couey; and his wife, Annette Pitts Couey. Survivors include three sons; mother-in-law; friend and caregiver for over 30 years; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were ... Pianist for the service was ?.
