Ralph Vance Peacock, Sr., 81, of Savannah, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was born in Rhine, GA., and was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army, and then served in the US Army Reserves, and was discharged a Lieutenant. He attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA., which was founded by his family, and the Peacock Family donated the property to build "Peacock Hall" at the College. He was retired from the Seaboard Airline Railroad, later known as CSX, having served as a Train Dispatcher for over 42 years. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board, the Men's Club of the Church, the Winsome Sunday School Class, the Pastor Parish Committee, and Secretary of the Sunday School. He worked tirelessly with the Inner City Ministry for over 15 years, at the Inner City United Methodist Church. He was a member of Solomon's Lodge #1, F & A.M's. He is survived by his wife; a son; two daughters and sons in law, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home - Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tom Oliver and Rev. Dan Pegram, officiating.
