Dustin was a 1998 graduate of Dodge County High School. He loved his time spent playing baseball for the Indians, but his proudest accomplishment from school was falling in love with his sweetheart, Misty. He studied business at Middle Georgia College before going to work for the family heating and air business, Pruett Air Conditioning, where he became the Vice President. Dustin loved family camping trips and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed being in the bird field with his dad, children, family, and friends. He loved being on the golf course and was proud to have coached the Warner Academy Eagles in Port Orange, FL. He was a passionate baseball coach with the Dodge County Recreation Department and their Clutch travel ball team. Some of Dustin’s favorite memories with his wife and children have been created on their many travels. He learned to scuba dive to spend more time with their children on their adventures. Dustin was a passionate advocate for the many foster children he and Misty have cared for over the years. Dustin enjoyed cooking for his wife and children. Above all else, he cherished his family.
He was predeceased by his son, Dustin Heath Pruett, Jr.; mother, Debbie Bowman Pruett; and grandparents, James “Jimmy†Pruett, Sr., Maize Cooper Pruett and Celestine Dixon Bowman.
Dustin is survived by the love of his life and wife of twenty-five years; five children; father and step-mother, sister; maternal grandfather; mother & father-in-law; sister-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncle; great aunt and great uncle; a host of cousins, extended family, friends, and beloved foster children.
The family may be contacted at the Pruett residence, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-3:00PM Thursday, January 23 before the service. In addition to flowers, donations in memory can be made to TLC CASA (Foster Care Advocacy) at PO Box 16322, Dublin, GA 31040.
