MRS. JACKIE SHADIX SANFORD, age 65, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, August 14, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Gary Ryals and Rev. Greg Farmer officiating, with interment in Lovely Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackie was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a 1974 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a member of Lovely Grove Baptist Church. After high school she attended June Williams LPN School at the Dodge County Hospital. She worked as an LPN for over 40 years and worked for many years in the ICU at Dodge County Hospital. She was dedicated to her work and enjoyed being able to bring comfort and care to her patients. She was also a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. In her early years, she loved playing softball. Jackie was a great nurse, a good friend to many, and was able to touch the lives of many over the years. She was the daughter of the late Eleanor Stufflebeam Rozar and Johnie Whitman Shadix and was preceded in death by a Daughter-in-law, Angie Spires Owens, Brother, Joey Shadix, and a Nephew, Brett Hartley. She is survived by her 2 Sons; 3 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Sister; Niece; Numerous Cousins, Friends, and Co-workers. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, August 14. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Lovely Grove Baptist Church.
