MRS. JUDITH ELENE “JUDY” EVANS McCRANIE, age 76, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Dodge County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, October 3, at Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Royce Vaughn officiating Judy was a lifelong resident of Eastman, GA, a member of Chauncey Baptist Church, and a 1965 graduate of Dodge County High School. She went to work at 16 for the Heart of Georgia Development and Planning Commission and later for the Heart of Georgia RESA, where she retired after 40 years of combined service. She was a dedicated wife of over 57 years and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed taking care of her family and especially spending time with her husband. Judy loved being around her grandchildren and was involved with their activities, and enjoyed decorating, especially for the holiday seasons, and Saturday night cookouts at the river with her family and friends. Judy was the daughter of the late Inez Mullis Evans and Arthur J. Evans and was preceded in death by her Brothers-in-law, Waymon McCranie, Curtis McCranie, and Tyrus Jones, and Nephew, Waylon Cadwell. She is survived by her Husband; Daughter; Son; 4 Grandchildren; Great-Grandson; Sister; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law; Nieces and Nephews; Several Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Cousins, and Friends; Caregiver.
