Mrs. Gladys Shadix Coody, age 88, of Eastman died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Hardy-Towns Chapel with Rev. Fred Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Coody Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Coody was born April 16, 1929 in Dodge County to the late Anna Newberry Shadix and James T. Shadix. She was a lifelong caregiver to family and a member of Antioch #1 Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Stuckeys and a homemaker. She is survived by children; Grandsons; step grandson; great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, James Edward Coody; grandchildren, Jason Coody and Mary Coody; six siblings.
