MRS. MARY ELLEN DOUGLAS ROGERS, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, April 14, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chuck Beaver officiating. Mary Ellen was born and raised in Dodge County, a graduate of Dodge County High School, and a member of Eastman First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker in her earlier years while she raised her two sons. In the 1990s, she worked at Dodge County Hospital as a first station desk clerk for over 10 years. She later worked at Wal-Mart in Eastman as a greeter for several years and enjoyed interacting with the many customers and friends she met over the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed fishing and hunting with Kenneth, her companion of over 30 years. She enjoyed many happy years with Kenneth before his passing in 2004. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and going on family vacations. Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Grace Flanders Douglas and Manley Olin Douglas and was preceded in death by her Companion of over 30 years, Kenneth Lindsey. She is survived by her 2 Sons; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters; Brother; Several Nieces and Nephews.
