MRS. DOROTHY LEE GIDDENS, age 93, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday November 13 in Plainfield Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Lee, Rev. Tim Tanner, and Mr. Chuck McCranie officiating with interment in Plainfield Cemetery. Mrs. Giddens was born in Plainfield, GA and was a graduate of Plainfield High School. She was the oldest member of Plainfield Baptist Church and a member of the Minnie Peacock Sunday school class. She was a devout Christian lady who loved her church and was kind and gentle person. She was a homemaker, a former Assistant Postmaster, and store clerk for Lee Supply Company in her community of Plainfield. Mrs. Giddens was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family. She enjoyed telephone conversations with her friends and spending time with her canine companion “Little Girl.” Mrs. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Blanton Giddens, her parents, John W. Lee, Jr. and Ida Southerland Lee and 11 siblings, Robert Lee, Elton Lee, Grover Lee, Milton Lee, Willie Lee, Rayvan Lee, Fred Lee, Willie Belle Lewis, Missie Wright, Clyde Parkerson, and Lillie Mae Butler. Survivors: Daughter; Son; 5 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Great Great Granddaughter; Close Cousin; 3 Sisters-in-law; 1 Brother-in-law; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends from 1:00PM-2:00PM in Plainfield Baptist Church on Wednesday before services.
