MRS. DORIS ELIZABETH BUSSELL BARTON WILLIS, age 83, of Chauncey, GA, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 12, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Fennell officiating, with interment in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Chauncey, GA. Doris was born in McRae, GA on June 25, 1942, to the late Josie Buchannon Bussell and Robert L. Bussell. She was a lifelong resident of Chauncey, a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church, and attended Chauncey High School. She was a dietitian for over 20 years for Chauncey Elementary School and worked for a few years for Eastman YDC. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately called “Granny” and “GiGi” by her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on TV, working on jigsaw puzzles, cooking for her family, and going on camping trips with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Nickey Barton, former husband, Bobby L. Willis, son-in-law, Wendell Mullis, and Brother, Franklin D. Bussell. She is survived by her Daughter; Son; Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Sisters-in-law; Several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00-11:00AM Wednesday, November 12.
