SEVENTY SELECTMEN LEAVE FOR CAMP Seventy young selectmen from Dodge County entrained for Camp Greenleaf, Fort Oglethorpe, Wednesday at 2:15 to enter the military service of the United States. The young men had dinner in a body at the Busy Bee Cafe before their departure, and a large number of friends and relatives were at the depot to bid them good-luck. Following is a list of those included in the number: ... . JOHN J. PARKERSON VICTIM OF INFLUENZA Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Parkerson, of Plainfield, received a message Tuesday morning announcing the death at Camp Greeleaf, Chickamauga, of their son, Mr. John James Parkerson, who entered the military service several months ago. Spanish influenza, followed by pneumonia, was the cause of his death. The body reached Eastman this morning and was carried immediately to the home of the parents in Plainfield. It will be returned to Eastman this afternoon and interred in Woodlawn Cemetery. The deceased was about 23 years old. he was married about 2 years ago to Miss Lois Embry, of Empire, and his wife, with a little baby, survive him. He was a member of one of Dodge's largest and most prominent families, and hundreds of friends throughout the county deeply sympathize with the bereaved ones.
