MR. BOBBY RAY THOMPSON, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, July 9, 2018, at Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, July 12, at Greenlawn Baptist Church, with Rev. Dwaine Dunn and Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Griffin, a member, deacon, and Men’s Sunday School class teacher of Greenlawn Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a retired manager for Georgia Natural Gas Company for over 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and his church. Bobby was the son of the late Nora Hand Thompson and Jim Hite Thompson and was preceded in death by a Son, Kenny Thompson, Grandson, Christopher Thompson, and 6 Siblings, Ruby Clark, Frances Carson, Betty Manley, Lawrence Thompson, Edward Thompson, and Earl Thompson. Survivors: Wife of 62 years; Daughter; 3 Sons; 8 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Brother; Several Sisters-in-Law and Brothers-in-Law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the Thompson residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, July 11.
