MR. JIMMY GEORGE ROGERS, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Dodge County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, November 21, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Dwaine Dunn and Mr. Hank Sapp officiating. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, a graduate of Dodge County High School, and a retired employee of Blue Bird Body Company for over 25 years. He worked at Alfred Dorman in his early years and after retirement was a substitute teacher for many years at Dodge County Middle School, High School, and the DAC. He was a dedicated husband and a loving father and grandfather. Jimmy enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and working, especially with special needs children. He was the son of the late Thelma Woodard Rogers and Needham Hanley Rogers. He is survived by his Wife of 26 years; 2 Daughters; 2 Sons; 6 Grandchildren; Several Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence. Jimmy will lie-in-state from 11:00AM-4:00PM Friday, November 20, and from 10:00AM-1:00PM Saturday, November 21 at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.
