MR. JULIAN LAMAR DUPREE, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, January 13, at Cottondale Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. James Dupree officiating.
Lamar was born in Eastman, GA on August 1, 1947, to the late Mable Conley Dupree and Pete Dupree, and was raised by William and Ruth Lowery when he was 5 years old. He was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a graduate of Dodge County High School and Middle Georgia College. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and faithfully served his country for three years. After leaving the U.S. Army he worked at Reeves Brothers Cotton Mill for a few years. He later worked for the Eastman YDC as a recreation supervisor before working at Dodge State Prison as a recreation supervisor for several years. Lamar also worked for Anchor Glass and retired after twenty years of faithful service. He was a beloved daddy and papa to his family and was a dedicated husband for over 52 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, cutting his grass and keeping up his yard, sports, and coached youth sports for many years. Along with his parents, Lamar was preceded in death by his Wife, Louise Pollard Dupree, Son, Richard L. “Richie†Dupree, Siblings, Jerry Dupree, Kay Hampton and Ruth Dupree Lowery, and a Brother-in-law, William Lowery.
He is survived by his Daughter; Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Sisters; Brother; Adopted Siblings; Brother-in-law; Several nieces and nephews.
The family may be contacted at the Dupree residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM-1:30PM Monday, January 13.
