MR. TOMMY DEMPSEY PIPER, age 79, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, May 13, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dwayne Burney and Rev. Tyler Kirkley officiating, with interment in Ocmulgee Cemetery. Dempsey was born in Chauncey, GA, and a graduate of Dodge County High School. He attended college before working for several years at Stuckey’s Signs and Plastics, where he traveled the United States installing, and maintaining Stuckey’s signs. He later went to work at Dodge Heating & Air as a HVAC Commercial Lead Installer where he worked for several years. In 2002, he continued his career working in maintenance for many years before retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and loved racing and wrestling. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Jewel Coogler Piper and Elton Piper and was preceded in death by his Wife of 58 years, Jimmie Foskey Piper and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his Daughter; 2 Sons; 9 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; Brother; Sister-in-law; Brothers-in-law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the Piper residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Friday, May 13.
