MRS. MARY ELLEN BARLOW BECK, age 86, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, March 23, at Middle Ground Church Cemetery, with Rev. Roy Lock and Mr. Reggie Sheffield officiating. Mary was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Ocmulgee Baptist Church, and attended Chester High School. She worked for several years for Taylor & Sons, Pope & Lord meat packing company, and at the Dodge County High School lunchroom for over 5 years. She was a loving, wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She enjoyed her church, reading, gardening, cooking, and attending family reunions. Mary was the daughter of the late Ruby Taylor Barlow and George Chatman, widow of Melvin Kennon Beck, and was preceded in death by a Grandson, Joseph Kenneth Beck, Great-Grandson, Rayden Collins, and 4 Siblings, Willie Barlow, Otis Barlow, Odie Bo Barlow, and Grayce Kimberly. She is survived by her 3 Sons; 8 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters-in-law; Feline Companion – Blackie; Several Nieces and Nephews. Mary will lie-in-state from 11:00AM-4:00PM Monday, March 22, at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.
