MR. ROBERT WAYNE DENNIS, age 72, of Cochran, GA, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Dodge County Hospital. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, January 8, 2021 at New Union Cemetery with Mr. Reggie Sheffield officiating. Mr. Dennis born and raised in Eastman and was a 1966 graduate of Dodge County High School, where he excelled in football and baseball. He was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and a retired truck driver. He attended Middle Georgia College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Guam. He worked for several different trucking companies over the years including Bearden Oil Company, Best Buy, and Stuckey Brothers Trucking, Inc. He enjoyed sports, classic cars, and was an avid fisherman. Robert was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Jahugh Columbus Dennis. Mr. Dennis is survived by his Daughter – Tasha Dennis Evans of Cochran; Son – Shawn Dennis of Perry; 5 Grandchildren – Tanner Sabia, Hayden Evans, Haylee Evans, Holden Evans, and Noah Dennis; Mother – Delores Noles Dennis of Eastman; Sister – Ann Faircloth of Eastman; Brother – Gene Dennis (Mimi) of Eastman; Nieces and Nephews – Jay Faircloth, Jena Pinder both of Eastman, and Marcie Jones (Jamie) of Milan; Several Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org, or the Veterans charity of the donor’s choice.
